Tuition

Tuition for the 2024-2025 school year is $36,575.00. The tuition cost covers 1:1 Chromebook use, our learning support program, athletics, the Academic Resource Center, field trips (day and overnight), class texts, yearbooks, and student planners. There is an additional cost for participation in our after-school enrichment programs, outdoor programs, and summer camps.

Financial Assistance

L-Dub is committed to offering financial assistance to qualified applicants. With equity and social justice at the core of our mission, we are steadfast in our resolve to have the resources available so that every accepted L-Dub student receives everything our program has to offer (the LWGMS admissions process and FA processes are entirely separate and distinct, and all admissions applications are considered on a need-blind basis). Recognizing that tuition and fees are a large financial commitment and for many, a significant barrier for entry, for the 2024-2025 school year, L-Dub reserved approximately 16% of its overall budget to our Financial Assistance Program. This assistance is designed to offset the difference between a family's resources and the tuition and other costs associated with attending L-Dub.

During the 2024-2025 school year, our financial assistance program is helping to support over 33% of the student body. The average financial assistance award per student is over $20,000 this year. This commitment to access – and providing an L-Dub education to families who otherwise might not have considered one an option – is deeply important to us and to our community.

Financial assistance awards do not need to be repaid.

How to Apply for Financial Assistance

The financial assistance application process

We are very excited to announce that we are partnering with Clarity to accept financial assistance applications for the 2024-2025 school year and beyond!

The Clarity portal will formally open to accept applications for LWGMS in December 2024, and applications can be submitted here. Depending upon your family's circumstances, the application will likely require most of the following items to be uploaded through the online portal:

  • 2023 IRS Form 1040 tax return, including all schedules

  • 2023 K-1s from any partnerships

  • 2024 W-2s and 1099 forms from all places of employment (as soon as available, but no later than February 6th, 2025)

  • If completed by the time your application is submitted, then please also upload your 2023 IRS Form 1040 tax return as well

All required materials are due on February 6, 2025, with the exception of 2024 forms, which are required as soon as applicants receive them from employers.

IMPORTANT:

School policy states that if parents/guardians do not fill out a joint tax return, each parent or guardian, if they are custodial or not, may be requested to complete and submit an application separately in order to be considered for financial assistance, regardless of personal tuition payment arrangements. Parents/Guardians within the same household should complete only one application. A financial assistance application is considered incomplete until all custodial and non-custodial parents/guardians have submitted the aforementioned information. In cases where there is no contact whatsoever with the other parent, please contact [email protected] for assistance.

Fee waivers

Clarity has specified fee waiver guidelines according to family income and will not charge a fee for qualified filers. Families who do not qualify for a waiver and would like assistance to cover the fee may request a waiver from L-Dub. To request a need-based waiver for any required component of our process, please email us at [email protected].

Financial Assistance Considerations

In allocating financial assistance resources, the financial assistance committee considers the following criteria:

  • Financial need, as documented in the Clarity evaluation
  • Submission of completed IRS 1040 tax form and supporting schedules, W-2 forms, 1099 forms, and other applicable documents
  • Retention of current financial assistance recipients who demonstrate financial need, as a priority over new applicants
  • Unique family circumstances that are not readily captured in the application (e.g. recent employment restructuring)
  • Grade-level socio-economic diversity
  • Grade-level enrollment goals
  • Adherence to the financial assistance process and deadlines

The LWGMS Financial Assistance Committee utilizes the Clarity analysis as the primary factor in determining financial assistance awards.

Allocation of grants

Families will be notified of financial assistance awards when they receive their enrollment contract for the school year ahead.

Appeal procedure

Applicant families may appeal the school’s financial assistance decision to the Chief Financial Officer. Appeals must be in writing (either via email to [email protected] or through the Clarity platform) and submitted before the deadline for returning the signed enrollment agreement and deposit.
