Academic Advisory

Advisory consists of a group of about 10 students in the same grade with one adult advisor with that will focus on academic support, organization, and accountability. Advisory class meets every morning for a 15 minute check in, and once a week for a full 45 minute period. Academic advisors each work with a small group of students and help them to set academic goals and stay on track with assignments and projects. We have intentionally built this advisory time into our curriculum so that students have more time to focus on organizing and prioritizing assignments, and so that each student has a specific academic advisor to support them. 

Advisory will:

  • Provide students with one targeted and constant person throughout the year who will be there to provide academic support and guidance
  • Provide students with targeted consistent academic support
  • Provide families with a point of contact for academic concerns
