Jade is a Seattle native. She grew up listening to inspiring stories from her great uncle, Seattle's first black teacher and chancellor of the Seattle Community Community College system. Interested in childhood education from a young age, Jade spent a summer teaching K-8 in Kilgoris, Kenya. After her travels, she received her master's in education and coached track and field at a local Seattle high school. Aside from teaching, Jade enjoys music from the 40s - 60s era, documentaries, running, and finding new adventures to explore with her daughter. |
