Biography

Natasha has spent the last eight years teaching Language Arts to seventh and eighth graders in New York City, Minneapolis, and West Seattle. She completed her undergraduate degree at Northwestern University and received an MA from New York University. Natasha strives to spark joy through reading and written expression. She enjoys helping students try new genres of writing, whole-class cliff-hanger ending debates, and noticing which classroom library books are the most popular. Her ultimate goal as an educator is to help students find their authentic authorial voices in order to empower them to be leaders and change-makers. She believes that through the gift of literacy students can express their true selves and witness others doing the same. When she’s not in the classroom, you can find Natasha taking walks with her family around Capitol Hill to enjoy ice cream, sample a new restaurant, or browse in the bookstore.
