BA in Literature from UC Santa Cruz MFA in Theater from Yale School of Drama K-8 WA Teaching Certification with a SPED Endorsement Miranda grew up in Los Angeles, California, but has lived all over, including seven years spent in New York City. She relocated to Seattle eight years ago. She has taught at several schools in the Seattle area, including The Meridian School, Seattle Country Day, and Hamlin Robinson. She loves teaching middle schoolers because of the important work of "becoming" that's being done at that age and because of the meaty discussions that can arise in class. Prior to teaching, Miranda worked for over a decade in the theater, both in New York on and off-Broadway and at regional theaters across the country, including the Oregon Shakespeare Festival and Portland Center Stage. She has always been amazed by the power of literature -- whether in novels, poetry, or plays -- to bring diverse worlds to life, to offer solace, and to foster empathy. Miranda is very excited to share her love of theater, literature, art, and writing with the students at L-Dub. When not teaching, Miranda enjoys yoga, reading, gardening, and going on adventures with her two kids. |
